2 Chainz Asks Judge To Toss Phantom Lawsuit; Says Auto Broker Tried to Trick Him Into Coughing Up The Cash

Just months after 2Chainz was sued for sticking Highline Holdings Group for an outstanding balance on his Phantom Drophead, the rapper has revealed that the man behind the suit is into some shady business practices.

According to TMZ, 2 Chainz believes the man that filed the suit tried to finesse him into settling by posing as two different lawyers. If you recall, Joshua Waddell of Highline Holdings Group filed a suit against the rapper for $18,317 plus interest for the Phantom. However, since then, 2 Chainz says Waddell has tried to trick him into coughing up the cash.

In December, Waddell reportedly sent the rapper texts from an unknown number claiming to be Chainz’s lawyer. He then attempted to convince 2 Chainz to settle the case and pay the money he was sued for, but the rapper claims he knew it was the auto broker from old text messages the two shared.

However, Waddell didn’t stop there. The rapper says Waddell contacted him a second time, pretending to be Highline’s lawyer. In those messages, Waddell lied and said a default judgment had been granted to the group and a lien had been issued on 2 Chainz’s car. But after further research, 2 Chainz was able to confirm that neither party that Waddell claimed to be sent messages to his phone, which led him to believe Waddell sent the messages to trick him into coughing up the dough.

As a result, the rapper wants the judge to toss the case.
