2 Chainz Denies Involvement In Last Year’s Bodyguard Beatdown; Says Lawsuit Against Him Should Be Dismissed

Back in December, #2Chainz was slapped with a lawsuit over a physical altercation involving his bodyguard, Rory Smith. In the suit, the victim, Richard Capak, claimed the rapper “authorized the actions” of the hired security that left him in the hospital with a laceration to his head.

According to the Blast, the incident occurred in October in New York City as the rapper prepared to perform on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” By the time the police arrived, they found 64-year-old Capak bleeding from the head. Shortly after, Smith was arrested and charged with assault.

Now, five months later, 2 Chainz has denied all involvement in the incident. In fact, the rapper believes the lawsuit against him should be dismissed completely.

In new court docs, 2 Chainz claims any injuries Capak sustained in the incident were caused by “third parties he had no control over,” which means he should not be held accountable for their actions. In addition, according to the Blast, he says Capak assumed the risks when he failed to “exercise due care on his own behalf.”
