Atlanta Hawks Sign Young Fan with Leukemia to the Team – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

Meet the newest member of the Atlanta Hawks. Lake Bozeman is a die-hard Hawks fan who will now be signing a one-day contract to play for his favorite team. It all started when The Bert Show, a local morning radio show, popped up unexpectedly at Lake’s house on Monday morning. The Bert Show sponsors Bert’s Big Adventure, which is a non profit organization that works with kids who have chronic or terminal illnesses to give them the experience of a lifetime. Lake is unfortunately battling leukemia.

Lake woke up first thing in the morning and came down the stairs to find an Atlanta Hawks bus waiting for him outside of his house.

From his house, they took a ride down to the studio so that Lake could be part of The Bert Show, where he also got a chance to meet Hawks owner and CEO Steve Koonin. But the best part was yet to come. After the two of them met, Mr. Koonin offered Lake a one-day contract to play for the Hawks.

After the show, Lake spent the day hanging out with Harry the Hawk and the ATL cheerleaders.

Lake had the time of his life on Monday but today is the big day. Hawks’ head coach Mike Budenholzer will announce the signing during a press conference and Lake will have the chance to help his team prepare for the Phoenix Suns tonight. I think Lake will definitely be the Hawks’ key to victory!
