“Bai, Felicia” Justin Timberlake Says He Shouldn’t Be Included In Lawsuit Against Bai Beverages

Justin Timberlake doesn’t want to be held accountable for the lawsuit over #Bai beverages as their spokesperson. Bai Brands is being sued in a class action lawsuit for allegedly deceiving customers with false and misleading labeling, according to The Blast. Bai’s bottle label says beverages only contain all-natural ingredients and are flavored only with natural ingredients when in reality the drinks are made with undisclosed artificial flavors.

When a lawsuit is filed it can sometimes bring down not only the company and its employees but also its sponsors – which is where Timberlake comes in. Because Timberlake is the company’s celebrity spokesperson and starred in their 2017 Super Bowl commercial, he is included in the lawsuit.

However, Timberlake says because he had no parts in designing, manufacturing or distributing the drinks he shouldn’t be held accountable. In addition, the plaintiffs won’t be able to prove he participated in the drink’s production in any fashion.

As far as the Super Bowl commercial goes, Timberlake says nothing in the lawsuit alleges that “any statement or representation by Timberlake (or his co-star, Christopher Walken, for that matter) was false or deceptive.” Furthermore, Justin states he was only a face for the brand and that he never mentioned the flavors being all-natural in the Super Bowl ad.
