Baller Alert’s Today In Hip-Hop: Ice Cube’s “The Player’s Club” Released 20 Years Ago

On April 8, 1998, 20 years ago today, ‘The Players Club’ was released and distributed by New Line Cinema.

The comedy/drama starring #LisaRaye, the late #BernieMac, #MonicaCalhoun, #JamieFoxx and more, was written and directed by #IceCube.

In the film, Diana Armstrong, played by LisaRaye, was working at a shoe store to take care of son and pay for school tuition when she comes in contact with double trouble, Ronnie and Tricks. The two convinced Diana that she could make more stripping by using the infamous hoe quote, “Use what you got to get what you want.” Diana then met Dollar Bill, who gives her the stage name, Diamond, and the rest was history.

The film grossed $23,261,485 worldwide on a $5 million budget. Definitely a hit with memorable quotes from the movie. What is your favorite line from the film?
