Ballerific Charity: Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Donate Half a Million To Help Rebuild Community For Those “In Financial Need” After Home Burns Down In California Wildfires

Not all heroes wear capes. While some wear Personal Protection Equipment and uniforms in a hands-on approach to save the world, others put their money where their mouth is to make a difference.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In fact, as California looks to rebuild devastated areas amid the state’s deadliest and most destructive wildfires, Miley Cyrus and her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, who also lost their home in the fires, are lending a helping hand to those in need.

According to CNN, the couple has donated $500,000 to The Malibu Foundation through Cyrus’ charity, Happy Hippie, to be used for “those in financial need, emergency relief assistance, community rebuilding, wildfire prevention and climate change resilience.”

The news of the donation comes after Hemsworth took to Twitter to share a photo of his house’s remains.

“It’s been a heartbreaking few days,” he wrote. “This is what’s left of my house. Love. Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.”

“I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can,” he continued on social media. “Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger.”

The soon-to-be Hemsworths aren’t the only celebrities who donated, as Sandra Bullock also made a $100,000 donation to The Humane Society of Ventura County. Unfortunately though, the two aren’t the only celebs that lost their homes either, as Neil Young, Robin Thicke and Gerard Butler were also among the celebs who have lost their homes in wildfires.
