Ballerific Fashion: 5 Essential Ways to Transition Your Wardrobe From Winter to Spring Weather

It starting to feel like Spring in February!

Although the season has not officially switched over, it definitely feels like it. Lately, the temperature has been going back and forth, so when transitioning into the new season, you want to slowly start adding spring pieces to your look. On the first day of spring, you don’t just break out the flip flops, sun dresses, and the shorts. Start by wearing spring colored dusters, floral printed tops, open toe boots, etc.

Here are my recommendations to help you transition into a new wardrobe for the Spring. Feel free to add your own twist to fit your style:

1. Duster/Trench Coat

Due to the weather changing back and forth, you can still wear coats. I would not recommend a heavy coat, but a trench or duster would be a great transition piece. Try slowly adding color into daily looks like blush, nudes, mint greens, and more.

A duster can add sass to any casual look. Pair your duster with a dress and heels or denim jeans and a tank. Keep it simple and cute!

2. Ankle Boots/ Open-Toe Boots

We are not out of the boot weather just yet, so feel free to add the open toe style to your wardrobe. The open-toe gives you a feel of spring while still playing it safe with the changes of temperature. Ankle boots with the open toe detail are also perfect with skirts, dresses, and jeans.

3. Colored/Printed Tops

Start adding more color to your daily looks with printed or floral detail blouses. Let’s put the all-black and dark blue pieces to the side and add a little brightness to our wardrobe.

4. Denim Jacket

Again, as we transition into Spring, we don’t have to give up on all of our outerwear. Denim jackets are a staple year round and can be styled to your discretion. Wear the denim jacket with dresses, jeans, or skirts. There may be some days where you want to wear something light due to a breeze rather than pulling out a winter coat.

5. Distressed Jeans

Distressed denim is a great way to transition to spring. The denim can be worn with fishnet stockings for an edgy look, or pair them with a pair of heels. Style your denim with blouses, tees, and short sleeve bodysuits.

*Honorable Mention -Rain Boots

Spring is not only known for warm weather but also for rain. Add a cute pair of rain boots to your wardrobe so that you can still look fashionable, even on a rainy day.

How do you transition to the spring?
