There are many fashion lovers that want to know the story behind the talented designer Lee Alexander McQueen. The late Alexander McQueen, who was just 40 years old when he committed suicide, was a well-respected fashion designer with designs that were out of this world. Later on this year, fans will be to get an intimate look at McQueen’s rags-to-riches story. Embankment Studios has described the documentary as a modern-day fairy tale laced with the gothic.
Many fans, old and new, have unanswered questions about the designer’s rise to fame and some of his most controversial moments. The documentary will give many an opportunity to get to know and understand the late designer.
Ian Bonhote will direct Alexander McQueen documentary and written by Peter Ettedgui.
“I moved to London from Paris in the ’90s much in part because of McQueen,” said Bonhote. “His sense of style became synonymous with the city’s raw energy and edginess, and I know of no other contemporary designer to ignite such an immediate visceral response from an audience – it was so exhilarating!”
According to WWD, a biopic is also in the works and will be directed by Andrew Haigh. The biopic is currently does not have a title. The release date is unknown but the directors are thinking after the documentary. Of course, the documentary and biopic will not appeal to everyone, especially if you aren’t into fashion. My fashion lovers will appreciate such an amazing film.
Will you tune into the Alexander McQueen documentary?
