Many of our favorite designers are beginning to tap into plus collections. Christian Siriano is among some of the designers that is showcasing plus size models on the runway. The designer has dressed #FLOTUS at the Democratic National Convention and made headlines for dressing actress Leslie Jones who tweeted that no designer dress her for the Ghostbusters press tour. Siriano cast models of all body types and ethnicities to strut in his Capri-inspired line.
Christian Siriano also teamed up with Lane Bryant earlier this year with a collection that sold out within a couple of weeks. If you remember, in July we shared that Prabal Gurung is collaborating with Lane Bryant with an amazing collection that will also be a guaranteed sell out. It is great to see more designers adding plus sizes to their collection. Definitely the beginning of something great!
On the front of the show from (L-R) Pamela Anderson, Neve Campbell, Jaimie Alexander and Ashley Graham.
Lets check out the pieces individually shall we:
The model strutted on the runway in a black duster with a white fitted dress styled with ankle wrap sandals. The belt of the duster was accessorized as a tie for the runway.
The next model walked the runway in a thin strap dress that featured button details along the front and a split. The look was paired with printed black and white gladiator heels.
Black is always a slimming color for many. Siriano added lots of details to the looks to make them fun. The model wore a double split dress styled with an exaggerated necklace.
The next black piece was so stunning and loved how the pieces complimented the model’s figure. The high waist trousers met with the long sleeve crop top.
The last dress was very similar to the black double split dress and was paired with matching heels.
