Well, it looks like Gucci is in the news again. The Italian fashion house is being sued by Forever 21 to continue using the brand’s infamous web and lurex detail.
Back in December, Gucci sent multiple cease and desist letters since then demanding that Forever 21 stop using the blue-red-blue and green-red-green stripe combination that the brand has used for years.
According to AOL, Gucci stated that the stripes are “confusingly similar” to what their brand uses and demanded that sales of the products stop. The products included chokers, sweaters, and bomber jackets.
Not only is Forever 21 seeking the legal rights to continue using the stripes but they are requesting that the court cancels Gucci’s current stripe trademark. They want the court to deny all similar pending applications.
