Ballerific Relationships: The After Break-Up Game Plan

You and bae have parted ways, and the world now seems like it’s over; what used to be romantic bed ridden nights, have been replaced with a bed covered in tears and dirty tissues. But because the world is not actually over, you have to carry on with life anyway. This game plan will give you all the components you need to have you back out in these streets carrying on, and forgetting all about ex-bae.

Work Out

Aside from being scientifically confirmed to improve your mood, exercise has also been proven to improve self-esteem. When we exercise, our bodies release endorphins that trigger a “euphoric” feeling. That same euphoric feeling along with a perfectly sculpted booty, will do wonders for keeping your mind off of ex-bae.

Mingle

After you’ve been tied down to the same person for a while, what better time to meet all the other awesome people in the world you never knew existed? I know this may be a little uncomfortable at first, but think about all the other cool people who just want to chat.

Get a Hobby

What’s the one thing you really loved doing before all of your time got sucked into a relationship: reading, shopping, twerking, or simply meditating? Whatever it was, get back to it. The ultimate goal is to be selfish and focus your time and energy on something just for you.

Get Another Job

Anyone who’s been in a relationship knows between timed invested and responsibilities, it is a paycheck away from being an official job. Therefore exiting a relationship allows ample time for an actual job to take its place. Not only will it keep you from sitting in the bed and sulking, but it’ll put a little extra $$$ in your pocket.

Friend Time

We never notice how much we’ve neglected our friends until we are single. Think back to how often you and your best friend used to talk on the phone, late nights gossiping and giggling. That’s what friends are for, now call them up and stay on the phone until the wee hours of the morning for old time sake.

Travel

This is self-explanatory. Even if it’s a quick road trip, or a weekend getaway, travel and see new parts of the world. A change of scenery may be just what you need to forget all about the memories at home.

Practice Self Love

Losing a significant other can take a toll on self-esteem, be sure to refocus your love and energy on your own personal well-being. Spoil yourself, give yourself compliments, reconnect with yourself; this can be as simple as getting a new hair-do, or practicing self-love exercises (google). Remember this is all about you.
