The NFL playoffs are in full swing and things have definitely gotten real! The festivities kicked off this past weekend with some extremely entertaining wildcard match ups. Here’s a look into what went down, as well as a look ahead at what’s to come on the road to Super Bowl 50:
Saturday’s matchup between the #Chiefs and #Texans was barely a matchup at all. With a final Score of 30-0 the Chiefs clearly gave Houston a problem. Saturday evening was the dawn of a battle that nearly everyone was waiting for. After being issued a conduct warning prior to game day, the #Steelers and #Bengals lined up for what would be a nail-biter. In the end the Steelers came out on top with a 18-16 victory, but it was evident from the start that neither team planned on just laying down and taking an L. On Sunday things kicked off in Minnesota with the #Vikings hosting the #Seahawks in -6 degree weather. The game, which proved to be the third coldest ever in NFL history, ended in uncanny fashion with a missed FG by kicker #BlairWalsh. With the final seconds boiling down the mistake led to an 10-9 Seahawks victory. The last matchup of the weekend came between the #Redskins and #Packers. The Redskins started the game with an 11-0 lead, but soon mistakes led to a shift in gears. The second half belonged to the Packers, coming out with an advancing 35-18 victory.
With the wildcard match-ups over, the divisional round is set to take place this upcoming weekend. The test of post-break performance will be full fledged, as regular season divisional champs come off of bye weeks. The Chiefs are headed to Gillette Stadium to face the leaders of the #AFC East, the New England #Patriots on Saturday. Following that game is the first #NFC matchup, featuring the Packers and the #Cardinals. On Sunday the Seahawks are headed to Carolina to take on Cam Newton and the undefeated #Panthers. And to round things out the Steelers will head to Denver to battle the #Broncos.
There are only two more rounds leading up to #SuperBowl50. What are your predictions for this weekend’s match ups?
