Beyoncé Pledges $100K To HBCUs  Under The 2nd Installment Of Her BeyGood Program

After putting on a show that honored HBCU culture, #Beyonce has pledged $100,000 to HBCUs for the 2018-2019 academic year.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The singer announced that one student from Bethune Cookman University, Xavier University, Wilberforce University, and Tuskegee University will each receive a $25,000 scholarship next school year.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The effort marks the second installment of the Houston native’s BeyGOOD Initiative’s Homecoming Scholars Award program.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to Ivy McGregor, a representative of Parkwood Entertainment which houses #BeyGOOD  said the initiative salutes “the rich legacy of #HBCUs.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining the culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students,” McGregor added.

Scholarships are available to students majoring in literature, creative arts, African American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science and engineering.

Recipients will be selected by their respective university and announced Summer 2018.
