Bobby Brown Sues TvOne Over Bobbi Kristina Biopic

Brown

R&B superstar Bobby Brown is trying to put an end to the upcoming television biopic about his late daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

According to reports, the film is slated to premiere next month on TvOne. Brown has summoned a federal judge to step in and halt the release of the film that falsely portrays the singer in a negative light in regards to his relationship with Kristina and his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston.

In documents filed by Brown, he claims that the film shows him being abusive toward Houston and neglectful toward his daughter, after Houston’s death. He said the film suggests that he “does not love his daughter [and is not] committed to his daughter.”

Brown says the film’s suggestions are “defamatory and untrue,” and that the project is a way to profit off his pain. He says the producers took advantage of their previous work with the singer and used it to exploit Brown in the film. He is suing for $1 million in damages. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

However, the network has fired back, saying they firmly stand by the film.
