Busta Rhymes Sues Former Employee For Pretending To Be His Manager, Wants $1.5. Million

Busta Rhymes has filed a lawsuit against his former employee who pretended to be his manager without his knowledge and says the man now owes him $1.5 million.

The Blast has obtained court documents that say Busta claims he and Rasheem “Bubba” Barker had a working relationship. However, Busta claims, “At no time did those duties include the authority to negotiate and/or enter into agreements with third-party promoters binding Plaintiffs to render the professional services of Plaintiff Smith.”

Back in 2016, Barker was paid $20,000 for a business deal he arranged on his own. The New York rapper says the man did the same thing for a show in New Zealand for $40,000 in 2018. Subsequently, Busta was sent a $22,478.40 judgment in a lawsuit that he had no idea about. Busta says there could likely be more stemming from Barker’s secret business deals.

Now Busta is suing Barker for $1.5 million in damages.
