Carolina Panther Greg Hardy’s Domestic Violence Incident Was Caused by Nelly

Earlier we posted about Carolina Panthers defensive Greg Hardy and his girlfriend, Nicole Holder, got into a physical altercation that resulted in Hardy threatening to kill her with one of his 30 rifles. Now we find out that Nelly was in the middle of it all. What isn’t Nelly in the middle of these days?

Nelly is part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats and according to court documents filed on Thursday, Holder said Hardy “has been angry for a while” over a short lived relationship Holder had with the rapper. Holder is a waitress at an EpiCentre nightclub and says she and Hardy broke up in March. During that break up she says she began seeing Nelly. Holder and Hardy eventually got back together but Hardy just couldn’t get over it.

Holder said Hardy went out drinking with his friends before returning late Monday night. She  says she was lying in bed with Hardy when “he just snapped.”

“Hardy picked me up and threw me into the tile tub area in his bathroom,” the complaint read. “I have bruises from head to toe, including my head, neck, back, shoulders, arms, legs, elbow and feet. Hardy pulled me from the tub by my hair, screaming at me that he was going to kill me, break my arms and other threats that I completely believe. He drug me across the bathroom and out into the bedroom. Hardy choked me with both hands around my throat while I was lying on the floor. Hardy picked me up over his head and threw me onto a couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns. I landed on those weapons. He threatened to shoot me if I went to the media or reported his assaults to anyone.

Holder told investigators she swung her heeled shoe at Hardy several times while defending herself, and began screaming loudly and cursing. Holder said Hardy then began videotaping her and agitating her, “trying to get her to flip out on him,” according to the documents. This would explain why he called the police, saying that she was the one attacking him.

Hardy was released on $17,000 bond Wednesday and ordered to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week and to stay away from Holder. The judge also ordered that he turn over all 30 of his firearms.

Hardy turning over his weapons is good news for Nelly. Remember, he has kids. Don’t shoot.
