Case Dismissed: Tyga Drops $10 Million Lawsuit Against Birdman

Tyga has reportedly decided to end his $10 million legal battle with Birdman over unpaid royalties.

Although it is unclear what led to Tyga’s decision, The Blast reports that the rapper has “voluntarily” dismissed all claims against both Cash Money and Young Money and the case will be dropped.

After saying goodbye to Cash Money in 2016, Tyga went after the label for breach of contract and damages. The initial lawsuit was filed in 2018 after Tyga claimed his former label failed to pay royalties for two separate albums, “Careless World” and “Hotel California.”

Tyga isn’t the first Young Money rapper to come forward with allegations against Birdman. Rap Veteran, Lil Wayne also had a very public battle with Cash Money CEO over unpaid royalties, which caused a delay in the release of his highly anticipated album, “Tha Carter V.”

The Blast added that Cash Money and Birdman previously denied Tyga’s claims against them and asked for the case to be dismissed due to that fact it was past the statute of limitations. In fact, Birdman said that it was Tyga who owed them for a number of advances he received during their business relationship, and asked for the “Taste” rapper to cover the cost of their legal fees.

There were reported to be several talks about a settlement in the past, but it seems the two failed to reach reconciliation.
