For HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Chris Rock puts together a 7-minute routine about the problem with African-Americans & baseball. Only 8.3% of players in the MLB are African-American & it seems to only be getting worse. Chris Rock examines the history of how African-Americans went from being a major force in baseball to barely being in it.
Chris Rocks says baseball is “old-fashioned & stuck in the past”. He wants baseball to liven up & get more hip. He states, “Fact is, Black America decides what’s hot & what young people get excited about.” Will Major League Baseball keep declining if they don’t start marketing to African-Americans?
