DL Hughley Says Columbus Short’s Wife Was A “Thirsty B*tch” Who Should’ve “Shut The F*ck Up”

According to DL Hughley, there is no possible way that Columbus Short could have beat his wife. Why? Because he is on a hit TV show. I suppose people with great jobs don’t do stupid shit every day. DL also goes on to say that Columbus Short’s wife was a “thirsty bitch” who should have “shut the fuck up”. 

Great advice from a man named DL. Don’t report when your abuser holds a knife to your throat and threatens to kill you. Just suck it up and keep living off those Scandal checks.

During a recent episode of his radio show, D.L. Hughley, who once said that Black women were the angriest people he’s ever met, weighed in.

“The star of one of the hottest dramas in the country, chokes the f*ck out of his wife? That doesn’t ever happen. I don’t think it happened first off. Like the time Warren Sapp was getting ready to do the Super Bowl and some broad said that he raped her. There are just as many examples of women lying on men in the middle of divorce proceedings to get what they want, as there are men who actually do anything. My point is if he did what she’s alleging he did, she could still get all that she’s going to have and not bring it up now, when it damages his market value that she’s going to be impacted by. If he loses that job nobody’s living in Calabasas anymore.”  

DL tried to argue that Short’s wife was wrong for leaking the information to the media, I don’t hate women. I hate dumb b*tches. I hate women who act against their interests.”  Only one problem DL, she didn’t leak any information to the media. She got a restraining order on her crazy, abusive, husband and TMZ got ahold of those documents, as they’ve done in several other instances. While Jasmine Sanders, his female co-host, attempted to explain this to him, he silenced her and blamed Tuere Short for picking Columbus if he had such an anger/abuse problem. Right, because abusers usually abuse you on the first date. 

He says, “When you’re very young, you’re very volatile. I’ve been in situations where the police were called. I don’t believe that every time someone says something in the heat of anger, they actually mean it. Everybody want a thug dude, a passionate dude, until you gotta live with your mother in an undisclosed location. You know what kind of dude you picked. Stop it.”  

First of all DL, Columbus Short is not a young and dumb teenager or college kid. He is 31 years old. You can’t make the “When you’re very young” excuse work here. I also don’t believe Short came off as a “thug” dude, seeing as he was a choreographer, dancer, and actor since high school. 

DL is the classic case of a person with a platform to speak and not knowing what the hell they’re talking about. You can’t skew the story to make it work for you. You can’t make up “facts.” Lastly what you can not do is blame an abuse victim for her psychotic husband attempting to kill her and losing his job because of it. Guess what, you do something stupid off the clock, you can lose your job. Tuere Short has EVERY right to protect her and her children and I only wish she had done so sooner. Columbus’ Scandal checks are none of her concern, they obviously weren’t his concern when he was beating up strangers in a bar. Where is the accountability? 

I wouldn’t expect DL Hughley to know the first thing about being successful because well….he’s always just been a loud mouth coon shucking and jiving for shock value and that’s all he’ll ever be.
