Ezekiel Elliott Could Still Face “Some Form of Discipline” in Domestic Violence Case

Months after the dust settled on the domestic violence case against Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that the baller could still face “some form of discipline.”

Schefter discussed the situation on Sirius XM Fantasy Sports saying, “This is a situation that has gone back and forth so many times,” he said. “I’ve spoken to some people within the league who, during the course of the offseason, got a sense that some form of discipline could happen.”

Last year, Elliott was accused of assaulting a woman. Although the running back was never arrested or charged, the league initiated an investigation into the matter, which uncovered several issues in the criminal case against the baller. Just last month, the NFL Players Association turned over phone records and other documents to further the year-long investigation. However, according to reports, the league is handling Elliott’s case with extra care, considering its history with handling domestic violence cases.

In addition to the lingering DV case, Elliott was caught on camera exposing a women’s breast during a parade, which could be another personal conduct violation. Although there is still uncertainty whether the league will carry out a punishment, there is still a chance that it will.

“Nothing may well happen there, but something could happen there,” Schefter revealed. “We just don’t know right now. It’s just sort of out there.”
