On Tuesday morning, legendary fashion designer, #KateSpade, was found dead inside her New York City apartment. She was 55.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, officials say she was found hanging by a housekeeper inside her Park Avenue apartment. They say she left a note at the scene, but further details have yet to be revealed.
The designer, born Katherine Noel Brosnahan, began her career in the ‘80s with “Mademoiselle” magazine in Manhattan. But, after she met Andy Spade, who is David Spade’s brother, in college, that’s when her career kicked off.

Together, the two formed Kate Spade, launching the namesake handbags in 1993, which quickly transitioned into clothes and jewelry, and blossomed into a full-scale designer brand. However, after more than a decade in the business, Spade sold her company. Ten years later, she came back and launched a new brand, Frances Valentine.
