Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Hit by Van, Left With Fractured Skull and Deafness – blogged by @MsJennyb

Recently,  former “American Idol”  finalist John Stevens, 28, was left with several injuries after he was run over by a van in Massachusetts.

Stevens posted on Facebook that he was “hit by a van while out for a run and suffered a fractured skull and dislocated and broken arm. Among other injuries and disorders I’m dealing with, it appears I will have some, if not total deafness in my right ear.”

The sixth place finalist on the third season of the competition, revealed he will be in Buffalo with his parents for a few weeks, in an effort to “heal and recover from the accident.”

According to WCVB5, the singer was wearing headphones when the incident occurred and the driver has not been charged.

However, Stevens is apparently getting the best care at Massachusetts General Hospital.

“The staff at Mass General were above and beyond anything I could’ve ever asked for,” he said. “Thank you very much for all of the well wishes and prayers. It truly means a lot to me.”
