How To Handle Being Dumped Before the Holidays

dumped

The holidays are rapidly approaching. If you’ve made it this far, kudos to you. However, hang tight because your new beau may be gearing up to kick you to the curb. If your boo hasn’t made any plans with you for the upcoming holidays, take the L, you’re about to get dumped. But don’t fret, BA has a few tips to get you through the lonely holiday season.

1) Return and Re-gift – Holidays can get very expensive, so look at this newfound loneliness as a blessing in disguise. If you’re on the verge of getting dumped, I would hope that you saw the signs before you spent an arm and a leg on bae. If not, it’s not too late to return or re-gift those presents.

2) Family Time – The holidays are the best time to reconnect with your favorite family members. Now that you have all this extra time on your hands, call up your Aunt Peaches and Uncle Junebug and meet up with them for the holidays. You haven’t seen your cousin Mookie in three years, find out what he has been up to. Chances are they’ve already made plans to gather together with the rest of the family, but you wouldn’t know because you made plans to be with bae. It’s never too late to kick it with the fam, they’ll always accept you, no matter what.

3) Focus on You – Whenever someone gets dumped, their favorite thing to say is that they’re focusing on work, school and themselves. Which, isn’t bad at all. However, it seems to only last until they find their next boo thang.  I’m not here to judge, just here to encourage. Focus on yourself. Get money, find God, whatever you’ve got to do to get your mind off the jerk that just dumped you. Go shopping, buy yourself something nice, because you deserve it.

4) Netflix – If the holiday season isn’t really your thing and family time is overrated, we’ve still got a few ideas for how you could spend your Christmas weekend. All you need are three things, a gallon of ice cream, a snuggie and a Netflix subscription. Netflix has a boat load of options to choose from. If you need a few suggestions, we’ve got you. 5) Go Fishing – Finally, there is no better way to get over an old boo than to get up under a new one. There are millions of fish in the sea, you do not need to worry yourself over someone who is willing to leave you right before the holidays. Besides, now that your single you can finally pull that baller that you’ve been eyeing.
