Heavy D’s Cause Of Death Revealed

Months after the death of Heavy D, his cause of death has been revealed. The coroner has classified Heavy D’s cause of death as “natural” citing that he died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis.  In other words, blood clots formed in Heavy’s legs moved to his lungs, blocking arteries and causing his death. Doctors say Heavy D also had heart disease which may have played a factor in his death. 

  

Days before his death Heavy D took a flight home from Wales where he performed at the Michael Jackson tribute concert. Deep leg vein thrombosis is often associated with long plane flights, in which a clot can form due to prolonged immobility.
