Jay-Z In Talks To Purchase Harvey Weinstein’s Interest In His Former Company

Amid the sexual harassment allegations against mega-producer Harvey Weinstein, JayZ may be trying to capitalize on the producer’s firing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

According to TMZ, the rapper is in talks with his team about purchasing Weinstein’s interest in The Weinstein Company. Sources tell the publication, Jay, alongside several investors, which includes another big-shot movie producer and a billionaire, have been discussing the purchase of Weinstein’s 23% interest in the company.

The rapper’s interest in acquiring ownership interest in The Weinstein Company, stems from Jay’s working relationship with Harvey and TWC. If you recall, the rapper inked a first-look deal with the company, in which he produced “The Kalief Browder Story,” with plans to produce a Trayvon Martin miniseries through the company, as well.
