For this year’s 2018 MTV Video Music Awards #JenniferLopez will be receiving the Vanguard Award for her 20 years of accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
On Tuesday, MTV announced the big news that the Bronx singer will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Aug. 20 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, according to Page Six. Lopez will also be performing that evening at the show.
Jenny from the block has given us several hits throughout her years including “I’m Real” with #JaRule, “Get Right,” “Waiting for Tonight” and so many more. The songstress who started her early career as a fly girl on “In Living Color” took her talents to films like “Enough,” “Gigli” and “Maid in Manhattan.”

According to Billboard.com, Lopez has sold 80 million records worldwide, 40 million albums, had 16 top 10 hit songs, three No.1 albums and is the first woman to have a number one album and film in the same week. Others who have received the award are #Beyoncé, #GunsNRoses and Madonna.
