Jerry Sandusky To Be Resentenced Next Month In Child Molestation Case

Former Penn State University Coach Jerry Sandusky will stand before a Pennsylvania courtroom to be resentenced on his 45-count child sexual abuse conviction, six months after a state appeals court ruled mandatory minimums had been improperly applied.

On Wednesday, Judge John Foradora filed an order for the scheduling of Sept. 23 for the proceeding to be in the Centre County Courthouse. In addition, Foradora also ordered for the 75-year-old former Penn State assistant football coach to be transported to the hearing from his cell in the State Correctional Institution at Laurel Highlands, CBS News reports.

Sandusky was sentenced to 30 to 60 years for child molestation after he sexually abused ten boys. Last month, the state Supreme Court denied his request to be given a new trial.
