Jill Scott Files For Divorce

After a little over a year, Jill Scott has called it quits and filed for divorce from her husband, Mike Dobson.

According to TMZ, the singer said she is leaving Dobson for her own safety, adding that it would be “unsafe” for her to continue living with her husband. In the documents obtained by the publication, Scott cites “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper,” which could reportedly mean anything from abuse to infidelity.

The couple wed back in June of 2016, but the two have reportedly been separated since September 5, just 10 days before the singer filed for divorce,” Bossip reports.

The publication reports that Dobson was “blindsided” by the divorce filing, though he agreed to a separation while working on their relationship. “She’s an evil woman,” Dobson told Bossip. “I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb shit, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“She got issues,” he added. “There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge.”
