Former NFL running back Joe McKnight, 28, was killed Thursday afternoon near New Orleans stemming from a road rage incident.
The incident happened around 3pm at the intersection of Behrman Highway and Holmes Boulevard. A witness tells Nola.com that she was leaving a store in the Terrytown area when she witnessed a man at the intersection yelling at another man who was trying to apologize. The man who was yelling, shot the other man multiple times. Reports say the shooter stood over the victim and yelled, “I told you don’t you f— with me.” before firing again.
Family members identified the shooting victim as Joe McKnight, who played three seasons with the New York Jets before playing his final season in 2014 with the Kansas City Chiefs.
