Kevin Gates’ prison stay has been extended.
In October 2016, Kevin Gates was found guilty of misdemeanor battery after he kicked a female fan during a concert. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail. Upon his expected release in March 2017, it was discovered that the rapper had a felony warrant because he failed to appear in court for a gun case in 2013. Gates was thrown back in jail until his fate was decided.
On Wednesday, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois sentenced Gates to 30 months behind bars after he pled guilty to his original charge of felony gun possession. He will reportedly be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
