Knicks’ J.R. Smith Suspended Five Games For Drugs

Athletes should be warned, with so much controversy surrounding Lamar Odom’s drug use, the league is going to be cracking down on drug use. J.R. Smith has found himself on the wrong end of the NBA’s Anti-Drug policy and now he’s paying for it!

The Knicks’ J.R. Smith was suspended five games by the NBA for violating the league’s and union’s anti-drug program, the NBA announced on Friday.

The punishment suggests that Smith did not test positive for a performance-enhancing drug but instead tested positive for marijuana. According to the league’s drug policy, a player is suspended five games after a third positive test for marijuana A second offense results in a $25,000 fine, while the first positive test calls for the player to enter a program.

When the league starts testing for “lean” so many athletes are going to find themselves benched. Why someone would want to take lean right before they play basketball, I don’t know, but they definitely do it. You guys get paid to perform. Keep yourselves clean and healthy!
