LeBron James and Dwyane Wade Reignite Their Bromance At Heat-Cavaliers Game

Christmas Day marked the return of King James to his former Miami kingdom, better known as American Airlines Arena. This time, instead of playing alongside his good friend Dwyane Wade, LeBron would be competing against him in front of a national audience. This was LeBron’s first trip to Miami with the Cleveland Cavaliers since leaving the Heat this past summer. He was with the Heat for four consecutive seasons, winning two NBA championships alongside Wade, before deciding to return to his home team. The two former teammates were clearly very happy to be playing on the same court again. With LeBron rocking a gold Cavaliers jersey while D. Wade sported a red Heat one, the two of them hugged it out during the pregame. At halftime, they were seen joking with each other at the scorers’ table. Even with the distance between them now, the two remain close. LeBron celebrated with Dwyane and Gabrielle Union at their wedding back in August and he even spent Christmas Eve with the Wade family.

But even still, business is business and they both are dedicated to playing their best, even if that means having to throw down the occasional dunk on a friend. “We only play this game for so long,” said James. “You’ve still got life afterwards. For us we’re going to compete, we’re going to go about our business and do what we need to do in our profession. You’ll never let friendship come in between that.” The two players duked it out for four quarters, both leading their respective teams in points, with Wade scoring 31 and James scoring 30. The Cavs fell short and the game ended in a 101-91 win for the Heat. Despite the loss, the Cavaliers still have a better record. They finished the game 17-11 while the Heat now sit at 14-16. After the game was over, LeBron and D. Wade shared a moment on the court.

Later that night, they went on Instagram and shared their bromance with the world. How cute.
