Lee Daniels Hit Show “Star” Canceled By Fox After Three Seasons

Fox has cancelled “Star” after three seasons.

The hit musical drama series has been cancelled after just three seasons on Fox. The show starred #QueenLatifah, #RyanDestiny, #BrittanyOGrady, #JudeDemorest, #BrandyNorwood, #LanceGross and more. Created by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy, the show portrayed the journey of a three-member girl group fighting to become successful within in the music industry, while at the same time balancing love life, painful pasts, and their own friendship.

Daniels, Pamela Oas Williams, and Karin Gist served as executive producers; Gist was also the showrunner. According to Variety, the series was a production of 20th Century Fox Television in association with Lee Daniels Entertainment.

For Lee, this leaves his initial show on Fox, “Empire,” which has been renewed for a sixth season.
