Previously, we reported on Lil Kim’s interview with Los Angeles hip-hop station, Real 92.3. The female rap veteran clapped at the radio host, #BootlegKev, for mentioning NickiMinaj in a question relating to her new album being titled #Queen.

#LilKim made it very clear that she wants the media to stop asking her about “ole girl.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“That automatically puts females against each other. Let each female shine,” the Brooklyn rapper exclaimed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The show’s co-host DJ Hed gave respect to Lil Kim for her mature, yet passive-aggressive response. Given the longtime beef between the two New York female rappers, Kim wished the ”Pink Friday” MC the best.

For those who have trouble tracking what ignited the Lil Kim versus Nicki Minaj war, we have created a timeline of events beginning in 2007.

1. It all started when Nicki Minaj released promo pictures that were very similar to Lil Kim’s.

Nicki Minaj is pictured in a bathing suit posing in the infamous “Lil Kim squat” for her “Playtime Is Over” mixtape, which clearly resembled Lil Kim’s 1996 album cover. It was never addressed whether Nicki was paying homage or mimicking the seasoned vet.

Both women admit they first met backstage at a Lil Wayne concert, but both tell a different story. Nicki says she asked Kim if everything was cool with them, but Kim responded; “Picture somebody saying to me, ‘We good?’ I’ll ring her throat, snatch her larynx out.”

3. Both Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim were featured on a Birdman song together.

Lil Kim claimed that when she agreed to be a guest feature on the track, she had no idea that Nicki would be on it too. Regardless, Kim said she was cool with it, but later claimed it would “be good for women,” she did, however, take the opportunity to spit the lyric: “Never be another me/What, you out your mind?” on the track.

4. Ray J takes shots at Nicki Minaj at Lil Kim’s concert.

In 2010, Ray J spoke about the trouble that had been brewing. Standing alongside Lil Kim on stage he said: “I’m seeing a lot of Lil’ Kim impostors. I’m not saying no names, but you know who.” Although he didn’t state her name, it was obvious the pair were talking about Nicki when Lil’ Kim said: “We love her. We just want her to pay homage. If you don’t pay homage then f**k you.”

5. Nicki, now the First Lady of Young Money, had the support of Toronto rapper #Drake.

The next day, after Ray J and Lil Kim’s stunt, Nicki had her own retaliation in Drake. After a collaborative performance, Drake let the crowd know; “I don’t give a f**k what Lil’ Kim or nobody else talkin’ about. You the baddest chick to ever do this sh*t!” Nicki cosigned, “That’s family” as Drake walked off stage.

The beef continued when Kim rapped at a Queens concert later that month: “I’d kill that b**ch with my old s**t… This s**t come and go.”

8. Nicki Minaj calls Lil Kim a “sore loser”.

Later that same month, during a Hot 96 interview, Nicki directly addressed Kim. “Put your music out and when I see your name on Billboard that’s when I’ll respond to you” Nicki said. “You’re going to go down in history now as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the Queen… Don’t play with me.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

13. In a 2013 interview with Hot 97, Nicki Minaj unexpectedly named Lil Kim as one of her inspirations when she was growing up. Despite everything that had happened, Nicki pointed out; “I don’t have beef with anybody, let me just say that. Life is too short. Nothing is ever that serious.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

14. Later that year, Nicki Minaj jumped on Beyoncé’s ‘Flawless (Remix)’

Nicki didn’t use the track to take any specific shots at Lil Kim, but she called herself the “rap queen”… And it obviously hit a nerve with Lil Kim.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

15. A few days later, Lil Kim replaced Nicki’s face on the artwork with her own and added a verse.

“Am I trippin’ or did this h*e just say my name?/ Queen of rap, f**k outta here/ Queen’s back, f**k outta here/

Time to get this rap b**ch up outta here.” Kim even rapped “I gave you the rope, b**ch I want you to hang.”

From then on, the ladies fired multiple shots at one another via diss tracks like Nicki’s “Roman’s Revenge” and full projects like Kim’s “Black Friday.” That brings us to 2018 where the ladies are apparently still at odds.
