Lindsay Lohan On The Me Too Movement: “I Think By Women Speaking Against All These Things, It Makes Them Look Weak”

Lindsay Lohan has never been one to shy away from her opinion. Now, in an interview with Britain’s The Times, the actress is making it known that she is not here for the way women are speaking out about alleged abuse under the #MeTooMovement.

“I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women,” Lohan said. “You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”

According to the “Parent Trap” actress, victims should report abuse when it happens.

“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” she said. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report.”

Lohan says although she has worked in the entertainment industry, she hasn’t had the same experiences as other women, after adding that she cannot condone “attention seekers.”

“So, I don’t really have anything to say. I can’t speak on something I didn’t live, right? Look, I am very supportive of women. Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways,” Lohan said

Lohan previously made comments in support of Harvey Weinstein in the wake of his sexual assault scandal. In a since-deleted Instagram story post, Lohan stated that she “felt bad” about what was going on and called on Weinstein’s then-wife to “stand and be there” for her husband.
