As if the first time wasn’t disgusting enough, another person is being charged with food tampering after licking ice cream in a grocery store in Louisiana.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Department arrested 36-year-old Lenise Martin III after a video circulated online, showing him licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream, sticking his finger in it, and then placing the container back on the freezer shelf.
According to investigators, after management became aware of the video, Martin returned to the store and provided a receipt to prove he purchased the ice cream afterward. However, management still decided to report the incident to police, who then questioned Martin.
Deputies charged him with the unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity and tampering with property. Martin remains in custody.
A spokesman for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said, “We discourage anyone from copying this atrocious act. It is illegal. It’s a health risk to others. We will pursue anyone we see do this. You will be charged.”
