Nick Gordon Avoids Criminal Charges After Allegedly Beating Up His Girlfriend

Nick Gordon has dodged a major bullet in his domestic violence case with his girlfriend, Laura Leal.

According to TMZ, Gordon will not face criminal charges for allegedly beating up his girlfriend because she recently reneged on her original statement and denied even being attacked.

In her initial statement, Leal claimed Gordon hit her several times in the face. However, Gordon’s recollection of the incident was a bit different, as he claimed Leal is the one that attacked him that night. In fact, Gordon phoned officials to report the dispute after the incident.

Following Gordon’s arrest, Leal begged a judge to let Gordon off the hook because she was at fault in the dispute. She claimed she was mentally unstable and suffered from bipolar disorder.

Now, with Leal’s recanted statement and no other witnesses, prosecutors say they will not be able to move forward with criminal charges against Gordon. However, he is still facing charges for violating a court order to stay away from Leal. Gordon claims he is innocent in that situation as well.
