Patti LaBelle Joins Season Three of OWN’s ‘Greenleaf’ Series

Patti LaBelle has just snagged a recurring role in the hit OWN drama series, ‘Greenleaf’.

As reported by Deadline, the legendary songstress will be joining the forthcoming third season, portraying the role of ‘Maxine Patterson’—a renowned Christian motivational speaker and old friend of Lady Mae’s.

Reportedly, LaBelle’s character will serve as Mae’s “sounding board and greatest ally as she attempts to consolidate her power at Calvary.”

Created by Craig Wright, ‘Greenleaf’ follows the puissant Greenleaf family and the scandalous secrets and lies that are seemingly hidden underneath the church pews of their Memphis megachurch.

The series stars Merle Dandridge, Keith David, Lynn Whitfield, Lamman Rucker, Deborah Joy Winans, Kim Hawthorne, Tye White, Lovie Simone, and Desiree Ross.

It is executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and Lionsgate Television, along with film producer Clement Virgo who also serves as an executive producer and director.
