Authorities say a 35-year-old woman was killed when she tragically fell into an industrial meat grinder at a processing plant in Muncy, Pennsylvania earlier this week.
According to the Associated Press, The Lycoming County Coroner, Charles E. Kiessling Jr. says that Jill Greninger, an employee at Economy Locker Storage apparently fell around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
A co-worker rushed to the scene of the accident after hearing “strange noises” and discovered Greninger’s body in the machine. First responders then worked for more than two hours to break down the machine and “recover” her remains.
The cause of the accident isn’t clear, but authorities believe Greninger may have been standing on the stairs next to the machine right before her fall.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is currently investigating the death of Greninger. Company officials at Economy Locker Storage have yet to release an official statement or comment on the incident.
