Peyton Manning Sells Stake In Papa John’s Just Days After NFL Replaces Pizza Chain With Pizza Hut

In the wake of the #PapaJohn’s controversy that led to the business separation of the NFL and its national sponsor, former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning has officially cut ties with the pizza chain.

According to TMZ, Peyton has officially sold off his stake in Papa John’s, relinquishing his ownership rights to 31 Denver-area restaurants after 6 years together.

Manning’s ownership stake began in 2012 when the former baller acquired 21 locations and had business booming for the Pizza chain. However, after the widespread controversy surrounding Papa John’s former CEO’s comments about the league’s failure to end to NFL protests and the league’s decision to sever business ties, Manning followed suit, just days later.
