Philly District Attorney Approves Meek Mill’s Release On Bail; Supreme Court To Decide If Rapper Can Post Bail Pending Appeal

Just days after a minor setback in his longstanding fight for freedom, #MeekMill is now one step closer to his release.

According to the @blast, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner just filed new docs to document his approval of Meek’s release on bail. In the docs, Krasner said he “does not oppose defendant’s application to the extent he requests release on bail pending the current proceedings, but opposes all other requested relief at this time.”

The latest move comes on the heels of the judge’s decision to deny the rapper’s bail and ordered that he remain behind bars to serve his 2 – 4-year sentence for probation violation. But now, with the support of the District Attorney, the Supreme Court will decide if the rapper will be able to post bail, pending appeal.

“We are encouraged by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s steadfast stance in not opposing Meek Mill’s release on bail at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court level while the current legal proceedings continue, even in the light of Judge Brinkley’s vindictive and erroneous decision,” Meek’s attorney told The Blast.
