Point Guard Grad: George Hill Skips Cavs Practice To Graduate From College: “Not Even The NBA Eastern Conference Finals Could’ve Kept Me From Enjoying This Moment”

On Saturday, as the Cleveland Cavaliers prepared to take on the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, #GeorgeHill was excused to graduate from college.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The 32-year-old point guard joined his IUPUI classmates for the school’s graduation ceremonies in Indianapolis, where he was one of two student speakers to address the graduates and attendees.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“I can tell you not even the NBA Eastern Conference Finals could’ve kept me from enjoying this moment, to experience this with you guys today,” he said. “As far as the legacy and what I can leave behind to my children, this is a big stepping stone in my life. I wouldn’t have missed this if my life depended on it.”

Hill skipped Saturday’s practice but rejoined the team in time for the series opener in Boston. However, the Cavs lost 108-83, as Boston secured a 1-0 lead.
