Queen Latifah And B.E.T. Sued Over Reality Show “From The Bottom Up,” Accused Of Stealing Show Idea

Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment -along with B.E.T. and Nicci Gilbert are being sued by Latosha Lee,  who accuses them of stealing the idea for the reality show “From the Bottom Up,” and now she wants all the profits.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Lee conceived a novel idea for a reality television show called ‘Real Life Cinderellas of Atlanta’ in 2013. She says the show focused on the daily lives of 5 African-American, semi-celebrity women living in Atlanta who had gone through publicized scandals and “were seeking redemption.”

Lee says she filmed a trailer and sent it out to networks, producers, and reps and claims that B.E.T producers made it seem like they were interested, but nothing came of it. When Lee found out that the network had a show entitled “From the Bottom Up,” she claims it was a rip-off of her show idea and even featured similar cast members and storylines.

Lee is seeking an injunction that will stop B.E.T and Flavor Unit from airing the show, in addition to all profits made from the show.
