Ray Allen Says He Was Catfished By Man Who Claimed To Be Several Different Women; Accuses The Man Of “Cyber-Stalking”

Ray Allen has reportedly been caught up in a strange “Catfish” scandal, after a man he met online claimed the 10-time All-Star had been stalking him. According to the Associated Press, Allen filed an emergency motion on Tuesday in response, claiming he’d been “catfished” as part of a plan to embarrass and extract money from him.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the motion, which was filed on Allen’s behalf, his attorney said the man, Bryant Coleman, “pretended to be a number of attractive women interested in Ray Allen. Ray believed he was speaking with these women and communicated with them.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Just one day before Allen’s motion was filed, Coleman told the courts that he’d been a victim of stalking at the hands of the two-time champion. However, Allen claimed in his motion that it was the other way around.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“He posted about Ray’s wife, Ray’s children, Ray’s dog, Ray’s home, Ray’s wife’s restaurant, and numerous other personal items,” the filing read. “Coleman not only posted about these things, he would actually post while physically located inside Ray’s wife’s restaurant in Orlando. And he would make sure they knew it, tagging Ray and his wife on those posts.”

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To make matters worse, the two parties reportedly came to an agreement that Coleman would keep all of the conversations and contents that was shared within those conversations private, as the two had a deal. But, Allen says Coleman has since gone back on that deal.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As reports surfaced of the catfish scandal, the baller’s attorney released a statement saying Allen has taken the necessary legal action to stop the stalking and threats against his family, adding that he regrets even responding to Coleman in the first place.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“Ray regrets ever engaging with this person online and is thankful they never met in person,” David Oscar Markus said. “This experience negatively impacted Ray, and he hopes that others might use his mistake to learn the dangers of communicating online with strangers.”
