Rockets Montrezl Harrell Facing Discipline For Pushing Referee

Houston Rockets’ Montrezl Harrell could possibly face disciplinary action for pushing a referee at the end of a D-League game on March 26, according to NBA spokesman, Tim Frank.

The incident initially began when Harrell, who plays for the Rockets’ Rio Grande Valley team, was pushed by Derek Cooke Jr of Bakersfield. Referee, Jason Goldenberg, got in the middle of both players, and Harrell pushed Goldenberg to the ground.

“Harrell committed a deliberate assault and battery against Referee Goldenberg. Anything less than a multiple game suspension would constitute a green light for violence against officials,” said   the National Basketball Association Referees Association in statement Monday.

As of now it is uncertain if Harrell will be able to play for the teams remaining three games.
