Rolling Stone Publicly Apologizes to Charlamagne tha God

After publishing the July 31 article titled  “Janet Mock Speaks Out Following Charlamagne tha God’s Controversial Morning Show”, Rolling Stone magazine has come forward and acknowledged that they misconstrued Charlamagne tha God’s words and painted him in a negative light.

In an article posted Monday on Rollingstone.com, the magazine apologized to The Breakfast Club host for for mischaracterizing “Charlamagne’s position in its original search headline, conflating comments by Lil Duval, a guest on his show, with his own.”

The article reads: “We sincerely apologize to Charlamagne the God for the error. Charlamagne has since clarified that he believes violence against transgender people is wrong and has declared himself an ally of trans people.”

Prior to Rolling Stone issuing an apology, Charlamagne threatened to sue the publication for defamation of character. Now that the publication has retracted the story and issued an apology, Charlamagne does admit that he actually learned something from this situation.

In an August 3 statement Charlamagne said, “We don’t condone those kind of hate crimes at all. Not even a little bit. And one thing…another thing I learned this week is that fifteen transgender women have been murdered in 2017 and thirteen of them have been women of color, that that number could be higher, but I do know the majority of them have been women of color. Like I think one, a transgender woman, got killed this week in Atlanta if I’m not mistaken, so, you know, her name was TeeTee Dangerfield actually, so rest in peace to her. So, the Breakfast Club will continue to do what it always does and that’s provide a platform for the voiceless.”
