San Francisco 49ers’ Reuben Foster Slapped With Three Felonies In Domestic Violence Case

On Thursday, San Francisco 49ers linebacker #ReubenFoster was slapped with charges in connection to a February domestic violence incident with his girlfriend.

The incident occurred on February 11 after an argument between the two turned physical. According to police, the victim says Foster attacked her, dragged her by her hair, threw her out of the home and punched her in the head more than 8 times. Following the incident, she was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for a ruptured eardrum.

Now two months later, Foster has been hit with three felonies, including one for possessing an assault weapon, as officials found an illegal Sig Sauer 516 in the home after searching the residence in the wake of the incident. He is also charged with a misdemeanor for the large capacity magazine that was also found in his home.

As a result, Foster is facing up to 11 years in prison, if convicted, in addition to possible discipline by the NFL, including a potential six-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. But, he will not be released at this time.

“We continue to monitor all developments in this matter which is under review of the personal conduct policy,” a spokesperson for the league said, as it continues its investigation into the matter.
