Tamar Braxton on ‘The Real’ Emmy Nomination: “I’m going to accept my award”

“It doesn’t matter where I stand in my relationship with anybody. If I’m nominated and I win, I’m going up there to accept my award – period.”

While appearing on Hallmark’s Home & Family, Tamar Braxton acknowledged The Real’s nomination for Outstanding Entertaining Talk Show Host for Season 2 at the 44th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. At the time, Braxton served on the panel of hosts.

Braxton expressed gratitude for simply being nominated for an Emmy. “I’m going to be respectful and hopefully everyone else is going to be respectful because it’s a very amazing moment for everybody. Everybody is not nominated in their life. You come to Hollywood, you have big dreams, but you’re nominated for a Daytime Emmy — are you kidding me?”

The singer abruptly exited the talk show last year, resulting in months of rumors and media frenzy speculating drama amongst The Real co-hosts and members of production.

Rumors were further fueled after Braxton herself after posted a cryptic message to Instagram, saying, “[…] know that everyone who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light.”

“We’re all going to be respectful. We’re all going to be happy for each other. We’re all going to go home and kiss our babies,” Braxton said about the possibility of winning the Emmy.
Tamar’s appearance on Home & Family airs this Thursday at 10am/9c on the Hallmark Channel. The 44th Daytime Emmy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on April 30 at 8pm/5pst and will be streamed on Facebook Live.
