The Game and Snoop Dogg Lead Peaceful March in L.A. – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

As leaders in their community, The Game and Snoop Dogg are doing their part and actively working to bring about change to a system that continually perpetuates racial injustice. The two Cali rappers led a peaceful march in Los Angeles early this morning with approximately 50 other men, which they named Operation H.U.N.T. (Hate Us Not Today, Hunt Us Not Today). On his Instagram page, The Game called for men of all races to gather together and march to the LAPD headquarters.

In his post, he stated that his objective was “to make the Californian government & it’s law branches aware that from today forward, we will be UNIFIED as minorities & we will no longer allow them to hunt us or be hunted by us.”

Let’s erase the fear of one another on both sides & start something new here in the city of Los Angeles, a city we all love & share,” The Game continued. “There are many things that have to be done to rectify this situation that has plagued us for hundreds of years & UNIFICATION is the 1st step !!!”

“The mission is to reintroduce our community to the LAPD,” Snoop added, when talking to reporters, “just to get some understanding and dialogue. We’re the ones they’re going to be dealing with, we’re the ones that are going to be pulled over. … We’re here on peace.” Game and Snoop also wanted to make sure that the march remained non-violent and urged fellow protesters not to bring weapons or anything illegal.

Once the group of men arrived at the LAPD headquarters, they were met by the cops. Game and Snoop were able to have a healthy conversation with LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck as well as L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, and they addressed the media together during a press conference. They spoke on ways to improve the current relationship between cops and the black community, emphasizing that conversation between the two parties is key. It also happened to be the day of new recruit graduation for the LAPD, and though both Game and Snoop were unaware of this, they were glad that they could involve a new class of officers in an important discussion.

Shoutout to these two men for using their platform in such a positive way!
