Tom Brady Will Not Attend Team White House Visit Due to “Family Matters”

Since February, several New England Patriots have declined the invitation to Trump’s White House, following their fifth Super Bowl championship. Now, despite his friendly relationship with Donald Trump, the Patriots’ very own quarterback, Tom Brady, has announced that he will not be joining the rest of his teammates on Wednesday’s trip.

This wouldn’t be the first time Tom Brady has declined the White House invitation. Back in 2015, Brady ditched the team White House visit, revealing he had a “prior family commitment.”  This time the quarterback cites “personal family matters.”

The baller released a statement, saying “In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters.”

“I am so happy and excited that our team is being honored at the White House today. Our team has accomplished something very special that we are all proud of and will be for years to come. That you to the president for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember,” he said. “Hopefully, if we accomplish the goal of winning a championship in the future years, we will be back on the South Lawn again soon. Have a great day!”
